Clubfoot (Talipes Equinovarus) is a common congenital birth defect where an infant's foot is turned sharply inward and downward due to abnormally short, tight tendons. International parents seek specialized care to avoid long-term disability. While mild cases are managed early via the non-surgical Ponseti Method (weekly serial plaster casting stretching), severe, resistant, or late-presenting clubfoot requires surgical correction. Pediatric orthopedic specialists perform a percutaneous Achilles tenotomy or full posteromedial release surgery, lengthening the tight structures to allow the child to walk normally on flat feet.
تفاصيل الإجراء
1 Surgical Release: Under general anesthesia, the pediatric surgeon makes a small incision at the back of the heel or inside the foot.

2 Tendon Lengthening: The tight Achilles tendon and internal ankle ligaments are lengthened using a precise Z-cut technique.

3 Joint Pinning: The foot bones are gently shifted into their perfect anatomical position and may be temporarily held in place with thin internal K-wires.

4 Casting: The foot is carefully closed and placed into a long-leg plaster cast to maintain its new, straight alignment during the early tissue healing phase.
