1 Access: Performed under general anesthesia combined with a regional nerve block for optimal post-op pain management.

2 Joint Exposure: An incision is made along the front of the shoulder (deltopectoral interval) to fully expose the ball and socket.

3 Preparation: The worn, arthritic head of the humerus bone is safely excised, and the glenoid pelvic socket is smoothed out.

4 Component Fixing: A metal socket plate is fixed to the bone, and a prosthetic metal stem with a polished ball is secured into the humerus.

5 Testing: The new joint is put through a full range of motion to ensure perfect tracking before muscular reattachment and skin closure.
